Increasingly, we have terrorist attacks all over the world. [image]
世界のあちこちでますますテロ事件が起こっています。
Increasingly we have serious political unrest from Washington to North Korea to Qatar. [image]
ワシントンから北朝鮮、カタールに至るまで、ますます深刻な政情不安にみまわれています。
Increasingly, we have disparity between the rich and the poor. [image]
貧富の格差がますます広がっています。
Increasingly we have more money spent on weapons than we do on education. (The US spends 20% of it’s budget on defense and 2% on education.) [image]
教育よりも武器にますますお金が使われていきます。（アメリカは防衛に20％、教育に2％の予算を当てています）
Increasingly, we have the normalisation of all sorts of sexually immorality relationships, and the celebration of gender confusion. [image]
あらゆる性的不品行がますます正常なものと認識されるようになり、男女の区別の混同が称賛されてきています。
We have endemics with drug addiction (overdose now the biggest killer of Americans under 50), alcoholism, suicide, human trafficking and child abuse. [image]
薬物依存症（アメリカでは薬物の過剰摂取が50歳以下のいちばんの死因）、アルコール依存症、自殺、人身売買、児童虐待が多発しています。
We have natural disasters killing thousands every year. [image]
毎年、自然災害で何千人もの人が亡くなっています。
Our world is highly vulnerable to serious diseases (like Ebola, bird flu, MERS, SARS etc) and many consider the virus to be the greatest threat to the survival of mankind. [image]
重病（エボラ、鳥インフルエンザ、MERS, SARSなど）にかかりやすくなり、ウイルスが人類の生存の最大の脅威だと考える人が多くなっています。
I could go on but you get the picture. You have to wonder, what’s going wrong? Why is all this happening? What sort of world are we raising our kids into? And where is God? How can a loving God allow such widespread misery and such tragedies to go on?
まだまだありますが、もうお分かりでしょう。何がおかしくなってきているのだろうかと思うはずです。なぜこのようなことが起こっているのでしょう？どんな世界で私たちは子供を育てているのでしょう？神はどこにいるのですか？愛にあふれた神が悲惨な状態がこんなにも広がり、こんなにも惨事が続くことを許されるのでしょうか？
For some people, these problems point to an atheist conclusion: that there can be no God and if there is he must be so mean and horrible that we don’t want anything to do with him. The outspoken atheist and actor Stephen Fry recently spoke so hatefully against God that in Ireland he was investigated under blasphemy laws. He said , “Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain?”
ある人には、これらの問題が無神論へ導くことでしょう：神がいるはずがない、いるとしたら、意地悪でひどい神だから、かかわりたくない。率直な意見を述べる無神論者であり、俳優のステファン・フライは最近、神に対してあまりにも憎しみをこめて話したので、アイルランドで、神への冒とくの法律の元で取り調べを受けました。彼はこう言いました、“不正と苦しみだらけの世界を造った気まぐれで、意地の悪い、馬鹿な神を尊敬なんかするものか”
Many people ask these questions, if not a little more politely. But these are not just modern questions and accusations. The same things have been asked throughout the ages. The same things were asked to Jesus. And Jesus gave some very interesting and very sobering answers.
同じようなことをもう少し言い方を和らげて言う人はたくさんいることでしょう。そのようなことは今に始まった疑問や非難ではありません。同じことが昔から問われています。同じことがイエスに問われています。そしてイエスはとても興味深い、とても粛然たる答えを出しました。
Regarding the evil in the world: and why God would create so much injustice and pain, Jesus told the parable of the weeds.
この世の悪について：なぜ神はそれほどの不正と苦しみを作り出すのか、イエスは毒麦のたとえ話をされました。
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
“‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
“‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” Matthew 13:24-30
「天国は、良い種を自分の畑にまいておいた人のようなものである。
25 人々が眠っている間に敵がきて、麦の中に毒麦をまいて立ち去った。
26 芽がはえ出て実を結ぶと、同時に毒麦もあらわれてきた。
27 僕たちがきて、家の主人に言った、『ご主人様、畑におまきになったのは、良い種ではありませんでしたか。どうして毒麦がはえてきたのですか』。
28 主人は言った、『それは敵のしわざだ』。すると僕たちが言った『では行って、それを抜き集めましょうか』。
29 彼は言った、『いや、毒麦を集めようとして、麦も一緒に抜くかも知れない。
30 収穫まで、両方とも育つままにしておけ。収穫の時になったら、刈る者に、まず毒麦を集めて束にして焼き、麦の方は集めて倉に入れてくれ、と言いつけよう』」。
So when you see or are faced with injustice and pain, that’s not God. That’s the enemy, the devil.
不正や苦しみを見たり、あなた自身が直面する時、それは神の業ではありません。それは私達の敵である悪魔です。
Jesus reserved his fiercest anger for those who attributed His godly work to the devil. He said such blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was unforgivable. In the same way, we can understand that blaming God for the work of the devil is equally blasphemous. In an eternal sense, God is in control but in a more immediate sense, we live in a kingdom that is not God’s. This is not heaven. We live in a world full of weeds which man has chosen to rule without God and the devil has a free reign.
イエスは神の御心にかなったご自身のはたらきを悪魔のせいにする者に最大の怒りを感じていました。
そのような聖霊に対する冒とくは赦されないものだと言いました。同じように、悪魔のはたらきを神のせいにするのは冒とくと同じであることが分かります。永遠という意味合いでは、全ては神の支配下にあります。しかし、もっと即時的な意味合いでは、私達は神のものでない世界に住んでいます。そこは天国ではありません。この世界にはたくさんの毒麦が生えています。神を信じない人間がルールを決めています。そして悪魔が我が物顔で支配しています。
Don’t confuse the work of the devil with the work of God.
悪魔のはたらきと神のはたらきを混同しないでください。
Our work is to pray and through the power of the Holy Spirit bring the kingdom of heaven into the kingdom of the world.
私たちのはたらきは祈ることであり、聖霊の力を通してこの世に神の御国をもたらすことです。
Regarding accidents and tragedies: involving innocent people, Jesus had some very clear teaching once again.
事故や惨事に関して：罪なき人々が関わっていることに関しては、イエスはもう一度はっきりと教えています。
Or [what about] those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Luke 13:4,5
また、シロアムの塔が倒れたためにおし殺されたあの十八人は、エルサレムの他の全住民以上に罪の負債があったと思うか。
5 あなたがたに言うが、そうではない。あなたがたも悔い改めなければ、みな同じように滅びるであろう」。
We don’t know why tragic accidents happen. We know it’s rarely God’s punishment. But more importantly, we need to understand that we will all die at some point and we need to be ready to face God, to stand before Him and give an account of our lives. That might be in fifty years, it might be in fifty minutes. We don’t know when it will be so we need to repent and be ready.
悲惨な事故がなぜ起こるのか私たちには分かりません。それがめったに神の罰でないということは分かっています。しかし、もっと大事なことは、私たちはいつかは死ぬのですから、神と対面し、神の御前に立ち、申し開きをする準備が必要です。50年先のことかもしれません、50分後のことかもしれません。私たちはいつ死ぬのか分からないのですから、悔い改めて準備しておく必要があるのです。
Jesus performed some incredible miracles to confirm the authority of the teaching he was giving. In fact, His miracles aren’t considered ‘miracles’ so much as they are considered ‘signs’: signs confirming that Jesus was truly bringing the kingdom of God into the kingdom of men.
イエスはご自身が教えていることの権威を目に見える形で確認するために驚くべき奇跡を行いました。むしろ、イエスの奇跡は‘奇跡’というよりは、‘しるし’として見なされています。イエスが本当に神の御国を人間の世界にもらたしていることを示すしるしです。
One of those miracles was the feeding of the 5000. [image] Jesus took 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish and He fed 5000 people with them. A little later he did it again to feed 4000 people. No wonder He was drawing huge crowds. Not only were people hearing some great teaching and seeing some amazing miracles, they were also getting a free meal!
その奇跡の一つは5000人に食物を与えたことです。イエスは5つのパンと2匹の小さい魚を取り、5000人に食べさせました。少し後には同じように4000人を食べさせました。大勢の人が集まってきたのは言うまでもありません。人々はすばらしい教えを聞き、驚くべき奇跡を見ているだけでなく、ただで食べ物をもらっているのです！
So after teaching about the kingdom of heaven which fed everyone’s curiosity, and performing miracles which fed everyone’s stomachs, He moved on to feed their souls. And here’s where it gets interesting. After feeding the 4000, Jesus turned to the crowd and taught them something extraordinary
群衆の興味を満たす天の御国について教え、群衆の空腹を満たす奇跡を行った後、イエスは群衆の霊を満たす行動に出ました。ここに興味深い事があります。4000人を食べさせた後、イエスは群衆に向かって途方もない事を教えたのです。
He said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35
イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしが命のパンである。わたしに来る者は決して飢えることがなく、わたしを信じる者は決してかわくことがない。
The disciples thought Jesus might be going a bit too far, a bit over the top, with this one. But he wasn’t done.
弟子たちはイエスがちょっと大げさに言いすぎているかもしれないと思いました。それだけではありませんでした。
He said, “I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.” John 6:53-56
イエスは彼らに言われた、「よくよく言っておく。人の子の肉を食べず、また、その血を飲まなければ、あなたがたの内に命はない。
54 わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者には、永遠の命があり、わたしはその人を終りの日によみがえらせるであろう。
55 わたしの肉はまことの食物、わたしの血はまことの飲み物である。
56 わたしの肉を食べ、わたしの血を飲む者はわたしにおり、わたしもまたその人におる。
Many disciples left Jesus at this point. They thought that was pretty weird. They wanted to see Him perform a miracle and they wanted Him to give them some free food. They didn’t want Him. But after eating the free food, they would grow hungry again. If they accepted Jesus, they would never hunger again in their souls.
この時点でイエスから去っていった弟子たちがたくさんいました。彼らはイエスの言っていることはかなり変だと思いました。彼らはイエスが奇跡を起こすのを見たかったし、イエスがただで食べ物をくれる事を望んでいました。彼らはイエス自身がほしかったのではありません。しかし、ただで食べ物を食べても、その後しばらくすると、またおなかがすくのです。もし、彼らがイエスを受け入れたならば、彼らの魂は再び飢える事はないでしょう。
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
すべて重荷を負うて苦労している者は、わたしのもとにきなさい。あなたがたを休ませてあげよう。
29 わたしは柔和で心のへりくだった者であるから、わたしのくびきを負うて、わたしに学びなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたの魂に休みが与えられるであろう。
30 わたしのくびきは負いやすく、わたしの荷は軽いからである」。
He said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son [Jesus] so that whoever believes in Him would not die but enter everlasting life.” John 3:16
神はそのひとり子を賜わったほどに、この世を愛して下さった。それは御子を信じる者がひとりも滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。
He also said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very soul? “ Luke 9:23-25
それから、みんなの者に言われた、「だれでもわたしについてきたいと思うなら、自分を捨て、日々自分の十字架を負うて、わたしに従ってきなさい。
24 自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失い、わたしのために自分の命を失う者は、それを救うであろう。
25 人が全世界をもうけても、自分自身を失いまたは損したら、なんの得になろうか。
Some of you might have come tonight to see you kids sing and enjoy a show. That’s fine. We’re glad you’re here. Some of you might have come to get a free meal. That’s fine, too. We’re glad you will be joining us for dinner. But if that’s all you receive tonight then you will go home and you will get hungry again in your tummy and you will grow hungry again in your soul.
ここにいらっしゃる方々の中には、今夜、子供たちの歌やショーを楽しむために来ておられる方がいらっしゃるかも知れません。それはそれで良い事です。あなたがここにいる事は、私達にとって喜びです。
ここにいらっしゃる方々の中には、無料の夕食を食べるために来ておられる方がいらっしゃるかもしれません。それはそれで良い事です。あなたと共に食事をすることは私達にとって喜びです。でも今夜、あなたが得る事がそれだけならば、あなたは家に帰ってしばらくすると、再び空腹を感じ、あなたの魂もまた飢えるでしょう。
You see, Jesus doesn’t only provide the answers to our questions about the state of this world and the trouble in our lives. Jesus is the answer to the state of this world and the trouble in our lives.
おわかりでしょうか。イエスはこの世界の状態と私たちの生活の中の問題について私たちの質問に答えるだけではありません。 イエスこそが、この世界の状態と私たちの生活の問題に対する答えなのです。
Not ‘was’ the answer. Jesus ‘is’ the answer. Because although He died, He also resurrected. He is a resurrected Lord who lives today. And if we are willing to say to Him in prayer, “Jesus, I give you my life. I believe in you. I no longer trust in the world or myself to live a full life. I need you Jesus to forgive my sins, to lead me in turning away from my sins and to fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can know salvation and the joy, the love and the peace that comes from knowing You.” If you are ready to go beyond the basic answers and the free food and you want to experience God in your life, tonight is your night.
”答えだった”のではありません。イエスが答えなのです。なぜならイエスは死んで、復活したからです。イエスは今日も生きておられるよみがえった主です。そして、もしあなたの心の準備ができているならこう祈ってください。、「イエスさま、あなたに私の人生を捧げます。あなたを信じます。私はもはや満ち足りた人生を送るにあたって、世間を信じる者ではなく、自分自身を信じる者でもありません。イエス様、あなたが必要です。私の罪を赦してください。私を導き罪に背を向けさせてください。イエス様、あなたの聖霊で私を満たして下さい。そうすれば、あなたを知る事からくる救いと喜びと愛と平安を得ることができるのです。」
もしあなたが標準的な答えのその先に飛び込む準備があるなら、そして無料の料理を食べる準備ができたなら、そしてあなたの人生の中で神を経験したいのなら、今夜があなたのための夜です。
We’re going to take communion shortly. We’re going to eat the bread and drink the grape juice which are symbols of Jesus’ body and blood. By eating the bread and drinking the grape juice with penitent, humble hearts and in faith, we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. By participating in His body, we become one with Him and our lives become His. And He gives His life to us. We become children of God. New creations. Born again. Christians. If you would like to enter the Christian life or continue to participate in it, I invite you to come forward and receive the elements. If you would like to know more about it, there will be a time at the end of the service for you to quietly ask questions up the front here with me and Pastor Mike.
この後、聖餐式が行われます。イエスの体と血を象徴するパンとぶどうジュースをいただきます。悔い改め、謙虚な心で信仰を持ってパンを食べ、ジュースを飲むことによって、イエス・キリストを私たちの主、救い主として受け入れます。イエスの体を分かち合うことで、私たちはイエスと一つになり、私たちの命はイエスの命となります。そしてイエスは私たちに命を与えてくれます。私たちは神の子どもとなります。新しく造られ、生まれ変わります。クリスチャンとなります。クリスチャンとして人生を歩みたい、又は歩み続けたい方は、前に出てきて、聖餐にあずかってください。聖餐式についてもっと知りたい方は、礼拝の後、私かマイク牧師に質問する時間があります。
After Jesus taught about being the bread of life, many disciples went away. Jesus turned to the core group of disciples and said, “What about you? Do you want to leave, too?” Peter spoke up. He said, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68,69
イエスがご自分を命のパンだと教えた後、多くの弟子たちが去っていきました。イエスは弟子の中でも中心のグループに向かって言いました。
「まさか、あなた方も離れたいと思うのではないでしょう。」
シモン・ペテロが答えた、「主よ、わたしたちは、だれのところに行きましょう。永遠の命の言をもっているのはあなたです。
69 わたしたちは、あなたが神の聖者であることを信じ、また知っています」。
May I encourage you tonight to trust Jesus, the Holy One of God, with your life.
どうか今晩、神の聖なるお方であるイエスにあなたの人生をゆだねてみてください。
