One very important, foundational truth to accept if we are to understand this message, and the larger Christian message for that matter:
*We need a Savior!
-Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall far short of God’s glory (or his perfect standard of holiness and purity).”
-Explain the ocean analogy
-And God’s grace is everything we need to be saved, as we’ll look at today. The cross, Jesus’s sacrifice, has bridged the great divide.
Text: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Because of my accomplishments and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,
“My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength is made complete in your weakness.”
Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.
What is God’s grace?
*It’s what has saved us and brought us into an unconditional relationship with God
-Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved—through your faith in him, and not of anything else you have done or can do. Your salvation is a gift from God–no one should try to boast about how he or she has earned it.”
How does God’s grace work?
*The mechanics of grace does not make sense in our human understanding.
-“The absurdity of the mathematics involved in God’s grace.” (Philip Yancey)
*Grace costs nothing for the recipients, but everything for the giver.

How should God’s grace affect my life?
*Be focused on what God has done, and not what we can do.
-“There’s nothing we can do to make God love us more, and there’s nothing we can do to make God love us less.” (Max Lucado)
*Be rich in grace, overflowing in love, acceptance, and forgiveness.
-“To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable in others, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in me.” (C. S. Lewis)

神の恵とは何？
神の恵は私たちをすくい、神様とのえいえんのかんけいをあたえました。
神の恵であなたは救われました。このじじつを信じるだけであなたは救われました。あなたが何か良い事やみとめられる事をした事ではありません。あなたのつみのゆるしとつみからの救いは神様からあたえられたプレゼントです。自分で手に入れたとはいっさい言えない。（エペソ２：８−９）
神の恵はどのように？
