Introduction

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Luke 2:11

今夜、ダビデの町（ベツレヘム）で救い主がお生まれになりました。この方こそ主キリストです。

Oh, the wonder and the glory of the Christmas story! Tonight’s Bible story speaks with such revelation about the power and the purpose of God.
クリスマス話になんて素晴らしい驚きと栄光でしょう！今夜の聖書の話は神様の力と目標についてのお告げです。

Considering the fact that God stepped out of eternity into our space-time dimension is really amazing.
神様は永遠から離れて私たちの時間と空間に限られた世界に入ってきたという事実は本当に素晴らしいです。

We read of the shepherds, lowly and looked down in society, yet called just the same.
社会から見下ろされた羊飼いのことを読みますが、彼らは「神様に呼ばれた」のです。

We read of the angels astonished that the Creator was born in the likeness of sinful men.
創造者である神様は罪に満ちた人間のように生まれたことに驚く天使のことも読みます。

We read of the wise men and we celebrate that these heathen astrologers traveled so far and came to worship the Lord Jesus Christ.
異教の賢者たちも遠くから旅して主イエスキリストの元へ賛美したことも読みます。

We read of the manger and we are reminded that Jesus the glories of His deity that He might become a man and die for us all. We read all these things, and it is more than our mind can comprehend.
馬小屋の話を読んで、イエス様が天国を去って、人間の形をして私たちのために生まれてきて、後に死んでくれたことも読みます。しかし、これらのことは私たちの理解力をはるかに超えている話です。

Then, we recall the words of the angel who visited the shepherds on that Judean hillside that Christmas Eve. In the angel’s words, we find the true glory of Christmas. Because, no matter how our contemporary time has turned it to be, Christmas will always be about the Baby Jesus born in Bethlehem.
そして、天使たちがその夜に羊飼いたちに告げた言葉を読んで、クリスマスの本当の意味を理解できます。ですから、現代のクリスマスはどんなものであっても、クリスマスの本当の意味は「ベツレヘムの馬小屋に生まれた赤ン坊イエスの話」に過ぎないのです。

Tonight, we want to acknowledge the true identity of our Lord Jesus. Notice what the angel of the Lord had to say about who this Baby was.
今夜は私たちの主イエスキリストの本当のアイデンティティを認めたいのです。天使が告げたことに注目しましょう。

1. SAVIOR – He is our Redeemer
   救い主 – イエス様は私たちの救い主です

The first part of verse 11 records the words of an angel to the shepherds: “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.”
11 今夜、ダビデの町（ベツレヘム）で救い主がお生まれになりました。

“Savior” This child’s mission wasn’t to save the healthy, or the righteous. He came to set the sinner free. He came for those no one else wanted.
「救い主」この赤ん坊の使命は健康の人や正義の人を救う為ではなかった。彼は「つみびと」を解放するために生まれてきたのです。みんなに捨てられた人々を救うために生まれたのです。

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Mark 2:17

彼らの非難に、イエスはこうお答えになりました。「丈夫な者に医者はいりません。病人こそ医者が必要なのです。わたしは、自分を正しいと思っている人たちのためにではなく、罪人を神に立ち返らせるために来たのです。」

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10

イエスは言われました。「その告白こそ、今日この家に救いが来たことのあかしです。この人も迷い出たアブラハムの子どもの一人なのだから。メシヤ（救い主）のわたしは、このような人を捜し出して救うために来たのです。」

As Savior, Jesus provided three (3) essential blessings to us:
救い主としてイエス様は私たちに3つの不可欠の祝福をくれるのです

1. Acceptance
   受け入れ

God accepts us through Jesus.
神様は私たちをイエスキリストを通して受け入れてくれるのです

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Romans 15:7

そういうわけですから、キリストがあなたがたを受け入れてくださったように、あなたがたも互いにあたたかく受け入れ合いなさい。そうすれば、神がほめたたえられるのです。

Keith Hernandez is one of baseball’s top players. He is a lifetime .300 hitter who has won numerous Golden Glove awards for excellence in fielding. He’s won a batting championship for having the highest average, the Most Valuable Player award in his league, and even the World Series. Yet with all his accomplishments, he has missed out on something crucially important to him — his father’s acceptance and recognition that what he has accomplished is valuable. This is what he had to say in a very candid interview about his relationship with his father: “One day Keith asked his father, ‘Dad, I have a lifetime 300 batting average. What more do you want?’ His father replied, ‘But someday you’re going to look back and say, “I could have done more.”
キーツ・エルナンデス氏は野球界のトップスターです。３割を超えるバッターでMVPを含む様々な年間賞も勝ち取っている。しかし、その実績があってにも関わらず、彼にかけているのは彼の父親からの受け入れです。ある日彼はメディアの取材にこのように言った「父親に、私は３割バッターになっているよ。これ以上何がいいですか。すると、父親の返事は《でも、いつか君は振り替えてみて、もっとできたなと思われるよ》」

God’s acceptance is what matters most. Because of sin, the Bible says we’ve been alienated, separated from God (Colossians 1:21). But, now God has accepted us through Jesus Christ. We don’t need to prove anything. God loves us just the same … because of and through Jesus Christ。
最も重要なものは神様の受け入れです。聖書によると罪のせいで私たちは神様から離れてしまった状態にいる。でも、イエスキリストを通して、神様は私たちを受け入れてくれたのです。他に証明するものはありません。神様が私たちを愛してくれています….それはイエスキリストを通しているからです。

2. Deliverance
   解放

Jesus delivered us from sin’s presence, power and penalty
イエス様は私たちを罪の存在、力と罰から解放してくれたのです.

1. Temptation and sin may come at any time and in different forms. We need to understand that the presence of sin is so contaminating like a virus that we can catch it without realizing and it’s not easy to resist or shake off.
   誘惑と罪がいつでもどこでも襲ってくるものです。だから、罪の存在に気をつけないと行けないのです。罪はウイルスのようなもので、いつでもかかってしまって簡単に抵抗するものではありません。

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles [“clings so closely” – ESV].

Hebrews 12:1a

このように、数えきれないほどの多くの証人たちが、競技場の観覧席で私たちを見つめているのです。だから、うしろへ引き戻そうとする力や、まとわりつく罪をふり捨てて、神の用意された競走を忍耐をもって走り抜こうではありませんか。

2. Once a person falls into sin, it becomes such a powerful force that it dominates all areas of life – mental, emotional, social and of course, spiritual. It has such dominating power that it is the same as being subject to slavery. Listen to what the apostle Paul said:
   罪に落ちてしまったらその罪が強い力になり、人生の全ての部分に悪影響を与えてしまいます。メンタルも、感情も、社会的にもそして精神的にも支配してしまうのです。罪の力は自分を奴隷のようにしてしまうのです。パウロがこのように述べた。

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Romans 7:14-15

14 本来、律法は霊的なものであり、問題はむしろ罪ある私にあります。私は、罪という主人に、奴隷として売り渡されているのです。まだ心の中にある罪との戦い15 私は自分のしていることがわかりません。ほんとうは正しいことをしたいのに、できないのです。反対に、したくないこと、憎んでいることをしてしまいます。

3. Sin has such a virulent presence and enslaving power that its ultimate result is punishment – the penalty of death. Consider what the Bible says about the consequence of sin.
   罪はウイラスのような存在でその最終的結果は罰ですー死という罰です！聖書が罪の結果についてこのように言っています。

“For the wages [payment] of sin is death…”

Romans 6:23a

罪の支払う報酬は死です。

ローマ人への手紙 6:23

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?

Romans 7:24

心の中に潜む悪い性質には別の力があって、それが私の心に戦いをいどみます。そして、ついに私を打ち負かし、いまだに私のうちにある罪の奴隷にしてしまうのです。

ローマ人への手紙 7:24

This death is not only physical, but also spiritual (separation from God) and if not resolved could result in eternal death (damnation in hell).
この死は肉体的の死だけでなく、精神的の死でもある。そして、解決してもらわないと永遠の死つまり地獄に落ちることになってしまいます。

Praise the Lord! There’s a solution to this sin problem.
でも、この問題に解決策があることに神様に感謝しましょう。

“Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

Romans 7:25

しかし、主イエス･キリストのゆえに、ただ神に感謝します。キリストによって、私は解放されました。この方が自由の身にしてくださったのです。

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood ….

Revelation 1:5

さらに、私たちにすべての真理を忠実に示してくださるイエス・キリストから、恵みと平安とがあなたがたに注がれますように。このイエス・キリストは、使者の中から最初に復活された方であり、二度と死ぬことのない方です。この方は、地上のどの王よりもはるかに偉大で、私たちに変わらぬ愛を注ぎ、罪から解放するために、自分の血を流してくださいました。

3. Preservation
   保管

We are protected and preserved in Him.
私たちはイエスキリストにあって、守られていて、保管されています。

Those whom Jesus saves are forever saved.
イエス様が救う人は永遠に救われています。

11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

1 John 5:11-12

11 神の言われたこととは、神が私たちに永遠のいのちを与えてくださったこと、そして、永遠のいのちが神の御子のうちにあるということです。 12 そういうわけで、神の子を信じる人にはいのちがあり、信じない人にはいのちがないのです。

ヨハネの手紙Ⅰ 5:11-12

“Who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

1 Peter 1:5

神の超自然的な力によって、あなたがたはまちがいなく守られ、やがて来る終わりの日に、用意されている救いをいただくのです。

Thank God, He came not as Judge, but as Savior.
イエス様は神としてではなく救い主としてこられたことに感謝しましょう。

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

John 3:17

神がご自分の御子を世にお遣わしになったのは、世をさばくためではなく、世を救うためです。

ヨハネの福音書 3:17

2. MESSIAH – He is our Access to the Father
   救い主ーイエス様が神様への道です

The second part of Luke 2:11 says, “HE is the Messiah.”
この方は救い主です。

This baby Jesus came to do more than provide salvation. He came to allow us access into the very presence of the Almighty God, the heavenly Father.
この赤んぼのイエスは救いを提供するためだけでなく、全ての面に置いて神様への道を提供するために生まれてきたのです。

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:14, 16

14 しかし、私たちを助けるために天にのぼられた偉大な大祭司、神の子イエスが味方になってくださるのですから、私たちの告白する信仰を決して失うことがないようにしましょう。
16 ですから躊躇せず、神の御座に近づいてあわれみを受け、時にかなって与えられる恵みをいただこうではありませんか。

へブル人への手紙 4:14,16

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus”

1 Timothy 2:5

その真理とはこうです。神と人間とは、それぞれ別の岸に立っています。そして、人となられたキリスト・イエスがその間に立ち、ご自分のいのちを全人類のために差し出すことによって、両者の橋渡しをされたのです。これこそ、時が至って、神が私たちに示された教えにほかなりません。

テモテへの手紙Ⅰ 2:5-6

The name “Messiah” (from the Hebrew, mashiach) or Christ (Greek, christos) refers to Jesus as the “Anointed One.” We often speak of Jesus Christ as if Christ were His 2nd name. Actually, when we acknowledge Him as Messiah…
ヘブライ語では「メシア」またはギリシア語では「キリスト」はイエス様を「精油で清められた」人として認めていることです。よくイエスキリストと言って、キリストがその苗字であるように言うのですが、「メシア」として認めることは次のことを意味します。

We declare that He is the only true Christ. There is no other. He alone is the fulfillment of God’s promised Redeemer.
イエス様が唯一のキリストであることを認める。神様が約束してくれた救い主はイエス様しかないことを認めます。

We declare that our search for any and all other so-called Messiahs has ended.
また違う救い主がくることはないです。

Later in His ministry, when Jesus asked His disciples if they wanted to leave Him,
イエス様が弟子たちに自分から離れていきたいと聞いた時にペトロがこのように答えた。

Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life”

John 6:68

シモン・ペテロが即座に答えました。「何をおっしゃるんです、先生。あなたをさしおいて、ほかの人のところへ行くわけがないじゃありませんか。永遠のいのちを与えることばを握っているのは、あなただけなんですから。

ヨハネの福音書 6:68

For the disciples, the search was over; they had found the One and only true Messiah. And we affirm this same truth each tine we call Him Christ (Messiah).
弟子たちにとってその救い主の探しが終わっていた。彼らは約束されていた救い主を見つけていたからです。そして、私たちもイエス様をキリストと呼ぶたびにその事実を確信するのです。

We declare that He alone provides us with all we need for lasting satisfaction. No one else can lift you from the deepest despair like Messiah. As someone said, “There is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still.” That’s Messiah, Christ the Lord!
イエス様をキリストと呼ぶ時に、彼だけは私たちの全ての欲望を満足できることを認めます。私たちを絶望から救えるのは「メシア」のイエスキリストしかありません。誰かが言っていた「イエス様より深い溝はありません」そのメシアこそイエスキリストです！

3. LORD – He is our Master
   主イエス様は私たちの主です

The third part of Luke 2:11 identifies Jesus as, “the Lord.”
この方こそ主キリストです。

When the angel identified Jesus as Lord, he was referring to One who was to be in absolute control of everything.
天使がイエス様を主として認めた時に、イエス様が全てのことを支配していることを伝えようとした。

Charles Hodge wrote, “The Greek word for lord is indeed used in scripture in the sense of master, and as a mere honorary title as in the English Sir. But, on the other hand, it is the translation of Adonai, supreme Lord, an incommunicable name of God, and the substitute for Jehovah, a name the Jews would not pronounce. It is in this sense that Christ is ‘the Lord, the Lord of Lords, the Lord God’; Lord in that sense in which God alone can be Lord — having a dominion of which divine perfection is the only adequate or possible foundation. This is the reason why no one can call him Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. It is a confession which implies the apprehension of the glory of God as it shines in Him. It is an acknowledgement that He is God manifested in the flesh. Blessed are all who make this acknowledgement with sincerity; for flesh and blood cannot reveal the truth therein confessed, but only the Father who is in heaven.”
チャールズ・ホージュ氏がこのように述べた「ギリシア語の《主》という単語は聖書でよく主人（マスター）のように使っていたが「ADONAI」という単語の訳は「すべてのことの主」という意味で、神様の名前を意味して、ユダヤ人はその言葉も言えなかったのです。イエスキリストはその意味での「主」です。つまり、神様のようにイエスキリストが主である。だから、イエスキリストのことを「主」と呼ぶんでいるのは精霊だけです。この難しいことは何を意味しているのでしょうか。それは、イエスキリストは人間の形をとった神様であることです。このことを認める人は祝福されています。なぜならその真実は人間がわかるものではありません。神様が伝える真実です。

This title of our Lord is a reminder to every Christian that Jesus Christ is to be the absolute authority in our lives. We are to allow Him the Headship in every area of our beings. In fact, the first duty of every soul is to find not its freedom but its Master.
だからイエス様を「主」として認めることはイエスキリストを自分の人生の全ての権力を渡すことです。自分の人生において全てのことをイエス様に捧げることになります。だから、全ての魂の第一目標はその自由を探すのではなくその「主」を探すことです。

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 

Matthew 7:21

わたしに向かって、『主よ、主よ』と言う人がみな、神の国に入れるわけではありません。天におられるわたしの父の御心に従う人だけが入れるのです。

マタイの福音書 7:21

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:10-11

10 それは、その御名のもとに、すべてのものが天でも地でもひざまずき、 11 すべての口が「イエス・キリストは主です」と告白して、父なる神がほめたたえられるためです。

Conclusion

It’s Christmas time! As such, we need to remember that the Reason for the season; the Reason we are even here tonight is because in that obscure village in Bethlehem, a little infant was born into this world over 2,000 years ago. That infant was no ordinary baby.

クリスマスの時期です。だからこの季節の理由を思い出す必要があります。私たちはこのに、この場所に今いる理由は2000年ほど前にベツレヘムの馬小屋で赤ン坊が生まれたからです。その赤んぼは普通の赤んぼではなかった。

As Savior, He is worthy of our worship. As Christ, He is worthy of our dependence. As Lord, He is worthy of our obedience. As Jesus, He is worthy of all we can give to Him. Have you given Jesus your all this Christmas?
救い主として、私たちの賛美に値する方です。キリストとして、私たちの依存に値する方です。主として私たちの忠実に値する方です。イエスとして私たちがあげれる全てに値するかたです。みなさまはどうでしょうか。今年のクリスマスにイエス様に自分の全てをあげていますか。
