Introduction
A man who was possessed of demons met up with Jesus Christ and the demons were cast into some nearby pigs who went wild and ran in a suicide rush into the sea that was close by.
悪霊に取り憑かれた男がイエス・キリストと出会い、悪霊はキリストによってその近くにいた豚たちの中に追い払われました。豚たちは暴れ出し、近くの海に向かって自ら身を投げ、死にました。
The owners were upset about this because they lost their business with the hogs which was a forbidden business for the Jews.
豚たちが死んで仕事を失ってしまったので、豚の飼い主たちは慌てました。当時、豚を扱う仕事はユダヤ人にとって禁じられていました。
So they came out to see what was going on and lo and behold, they found the demon possessed man, who had caused much disturbance to everyone, completely changed. He had met up with Jesus and this resulted in the transformation of his life.
その騒ぎで、何が起こっているのかを見るために人々が外に出てきました。人々は、ある男が悪霊に取り憑かれていたことがわかりました。その悪霊に取り憑かれた男は、度々人々に迷惑や厄介をかけていた男でしたが、イエスと出会い、その男は自分の人生に大きな変化をもたらし、完全に変容を遂げたのでした。
The application is when we do evangelism (preach the good news) we believe that God will cause souls to be saved. When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you will be changed.
私たちが伝道をするとき、すなわち、福音を宣べ伝えるときは、「神が私たちの魂を救ってくれる」と宣べ伝えます。イエスを救い主として受け入れると、あなたは変わることができるのです。
We note four (4) of these changes in this man whom the Lord Jesus had cast out demons.
主イエスが悪霊を追い出したこの男の変化についてみていきましょう。4つの変化をあげていきます。

Change #1: RESTING
変容＃1：休憩
“Sitting.” It is a picture of rest. This is a new posture for the man. Before Christ cast out the demons from the man, the man was constantly roaming about the tombs and mountains and wilderness day and night. But Christ gave the man a rest he did not have.
「座っています。」休息している絵です。これはこの男にとって、新しい姿勢と言えます。なぜなら、キリストがこの男から悪霊を追い出すまでは、この男は昼夜を問わず墓や山、荒野を絶えず歩き回っていました。しかし、キリストが、この男に休息を与えたのです。
One of the characteristics of sin is restlessness.
落ち着きのなさは、私たちの罪の特徴の一つと言えるでしょう。
But when Christ enters one’s life, He will bring a rest for the soul that the world cannot give.
しかし、キリストが私たちの人生に関わったとき、キリストがあなたの魂に、この世が与えることができないような休息をもたらしてくれます。

Change #2: RESPECT
変容＃2：尊重
“Sitting at Jesus’ feet.” Before the man was delivered from the demons, he wanted nothing to do with Christ. The demon speaking through him said:
「イエスのみ前にひれ伏す」その男が悪霊から救われる前、彼はイエスとは何ら関係がありませんでした。
悪霊に取りつかれたその男はイエスを見て叫び出し、みまえにひれ伏して大声で言った、
But after Christ changed his life, the man now greatly respected and revered the Lord. Animosity towards Christ ends with redemption.
キリストがこの男の人生を変えた後は、その男はもはや、主を大いに尊敬し、あがめています。そして償いの気持ちを持つことによって、キリストに対して持っていた敵意はなくなります。
People who get saved have a change in attitude towards a lot of things especially spiritual things. Profanity goes. Dirty jokes end. The Bible is now a very open book to them. No one changes a life for good, better than Jesus Christ does.
救われた人々には、物事に対する姿勢に、たくさんの変化が起こるようになります。特に霊的なことに対する姿勢が大きく変わります。神を冒涜しなくなり、品のない冗談を言わなくなります。救われた人々にとっては、聖書はもう公然の書となり、イエス・キリストだけが、人生を良い方向に変えてくれるのです。

Change #3: ROBED
変容＃3：衣を纏う
“Dressed.” Before Christ came to this man, he “wore no clothes.” This robing of the man pictures the righteous robe of salvation (Isaiah 61:10) and also pictures the improvement in morals of a person when he or she gets saved.
イザヤ書６１章では、「着物を着て」と書かれています。この男はキリストのところに来るまでは、「着物も着ず」と表されるように着物を着ていませんでした。この男の衣は、義の救いの衣（イザヤ61:10）と表現されており、これは人が救われる時、その人の道徳心やモラルが改善されることを表しています。

Change #4: RATIONAL
変容＃4：理性
“In his right mind.” Satan would have people think that to follow Christ is crazy, unintelligent, and stupid.
ここで、「正気になって」と書かれていますが、悪霊は人々に、キリストに従うことは正気の沙汰ではなく、知性がなく、愚かなことであると思わせました。
In reality, when this man was possessed by demons, he acted insane. When Christ came into his life and changed it dramatically, the man became rational, sane, and sober. Sin, not Christ, causes people to act foolish and irrationally.
現実には、この男が悪霊に取りつかれたとき、彼は正気を失いました。キリストが彼の人生に現れ、彼を劇的に変え、その男は正気を取り戻し、理性的になり、冷静になることができました。キリストに相反し、罪は人々を愚かで不合理な行動に走らせます。
Conclusion
The difference between evangelism and missions is largely one of geography. The harvest is at our doorstep as well as in fields across the ocean.
身近で行われる「伝道」と、広い地域で繰り広げられる「布教」の違いを考えたとき、大きな違いがあるように思えます。しかし、福音の収穫は私たちの身近だけではなく、海の向こうの側でもどこでも行われるべきだということです。
For the Gadarene demoniac, the lakeshore well became a church in which Jesus could present His salvation to a needy soul. From Him we learn that the Christian can witness anytime, anyplace. We cannot allow those opportunities to slip away.
遠く離れたガダラ人の地は、求める魂にイエスが救いを差し伸べる教会となりました。そのように、私たちクリスチャンは、いつでもどこでも神から学ぶことができるのです。そのような学ぶチャンスを逃してはいけません。
Sometimes telling a story has as much effect on the teller as it does the listeners. Martin Buber, the Jewish philosopher, recalls: “My grandfather was lame. Once they asked him to tell a story about his teacher, and he related how his master used to hop and dance while he prayed. My grandfather rose as he spoke and was so swept away by his story that he himself began to hop and dance to show how the master had done. From that hour he was cured of his lameness.” When we tell the story of our Master, we too experience His power – the transforming power of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
ストーリーを伝えることは、聞き手と同じくらい、話し手にも影響を与えることがあります。
ユダヤ人の哲学者であるマーティン・ブーバーは、「私の祖父は足が不自由だった。ある日、祖父は彼の牧師先生について話をするように頼まれた。そして祖父は、その牧師先生が祈りの時に、どのように飛び跳ねたり踊ったりしたかということを話すうちに、祖父自身が真似て飛び跳ねて踊り始め、不自由だった足が治った。」と言っています。このように偉大な神の話をする時、私たちも主の力、主イエス・キリストによって「変化する力」を経験することになります!!!
