My dreams of flying. What dreams do you have?
私は空を飛ぶ夢をみます。あなたの夢はどんな夢ですか？
As far as I know, my dreams are not messages from God (although Isaiah tells us that one day we will “soar on wings like eagles” so I’ll withhold judgement on that!). 夢は時々神様からのメッセージだったりしますが、私が知る限りでは、私の夢は神様からのメッセージではないと思います。でも、イザヤが、ある日、私たちは 鷲のように翼をはばたかせて飛べると言っているので、私の空を飛ぶ夢もまんざら夢ではないかもしれません。But sometimes God does speak through dreams and it’s very clear that it is God speaking through the dream. We know this because of what follows the dream.
でも、時々、神は夢を通して語られるときがあります。そして、それはとてもはっきりとわかります。神様が私に夢を通して話しかけてくださっているのが。このことは、夢の後、夢見たことが実際に起こり、現実になることからわかります。
I recently read of a pastor who had a dream – a nightmare – of running over his infant son in his garage in his SUV. 私は最近、ある牧師が、夢の中で自分の幼い息子を、自宅のガレージの中で四駆エンジンの車でひいてしまったという悪夢について書いているものを読みました。The next morning, when he left home, he carefully locked the door behind him, got in the car and prepared to back out of the garage. そんな夢の次の日の朝、彼は、車のドアの後ろにだれもいないか確認し慎重にドアを閉め、車に乗り込みゆっくりと車をバックで発進しました。 Then he remembered the dream. Was it really a warning from God or ‘just a dream’? そしてあの夢のことを思い出しました。彼は考えました。「あれは、ただの夢だったのか、それとも自分への忠告だったのか？」He was sure it was just a dream. And besides, his 18 month old son wasn’t capable of unlocking the door and running outside so quickly. 彼は「あれは間違いなくただの夢だ。」と思いました。それに、彼の１８ヶ月の息子は一人ではカギのかかっているドアを開けてそんなに早く外に出ることはできないのですから。But just to be safe, he got out of the car and looked. And there sitting behind the back wheel was his son. God had spoken through a dream.でも、念のために彼は車からおりて、周りを見回りました。すると、後輪の後ろに彼の１８ヶ月の息子が座っていたのです。
神は彼に夢を通して語っていたのです。
God spoke to the prophet Daniel through dreams. We know this because of what followed.神は預言者ダニエルに夢を通して語りました。このことは、夢が現実になっていることからわかります。
Today we continue our 7 year series looking at every book of the Bible – one a month.
[image] We started at Genesis, moved through the Pentateuch, the history books, the wisdom literature, the major prophets and today we start on the minor prophets. (They are not called minor prophets because they are less important. They are called minor prophets because
their books are shorter.) 今日は、３年前から始めて続いている、７年間で完結する教えの、聖書の書を一つずつ見て行きます。この教えは今後、ひと月に一度づつ行って行きます。創世記からはじまりました。モーセの５書も勉強しました。歴史の本のように賢い文学も勉強しました。大予言書も勉強しました。今日は小予言書から始めます、が、ちなみにこれはその予言が重要ではないからそう呼ばれているのではありません。書が短いのでそう呼ばれているのです。

3. Dreams regarding the destiny of Israel and God’s people
イスラエルと神の民の運命に関する夢
Theme: God’s sovereignty (ie. God’s Kingship/Lordship/ruling over everything)
テーマ：神の主権、（例えば神の王としての資質、リーダーとしての資質、統治する力です。）
We can see this in three spheres/kingdoms: これらの神の主権は次の三つの王国／世界に分けられます。
i. The political sphere 政治的世界
ii. The natural sphere 自然界
iii. The spiritual sphere 霊的世界
i. The political sphere.
政治的世界
In Daniel’s dreams, we see that God is sovereign over political Kingdoms. ダニエルの夢から神が政治的世界を支配されているのが分かります。 We see this in the dream of the statue (ch 2), the dream of the beast (ch 7) and the dream of the ram and the goat (ch 8).
このことは、ダニエル書２章の肖像の夢、７章の野獣の夢、８章の子羊とヤギの夢の中に述べられています。
This also comes through the message of the writing on the wall. このことはまた、壁にかかれているメッセージからもわかります。Daniel correctly interprets the meaning of the sign that King Belshazzar and the others see at the feast when a human hand appears and writes this
ダニエルは、ベルシャザール王と他の人々としていた宴の途中で、人の手が現れ、その手が壁に書いたメッセージの意味を、正確に解釈しています。
message on the wall: 壁のメッセージにはこう書かれていました。
MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN
メネ、メネ、テケル、ウパルシン。
No-one can understand it. 誰にもこの意味はわかりません。Not the magicians, not the wise men, not the diviners – none of them because it was a message from God, and without knowing God, it couldn’t be understood. 魔術師でさえ、賢者でさえ、占い師でさえ、誰にもわかりません。なぜなら、それは神からのメッセージであり、神を知らなくては理解できる訳はなかったからです。 Daniel knew God and was gifted by Him, so he alone could explain it.ダニエルは神を知っており、神によって賜物をいただいていました。だからダニエルだけがそのメッセージを説明することができたのです。
Before God’s sovereignty, no political kingdom can stand.
神の主権の前にたつ政治的世界はありません。
The writing on the wall meant that the king’s reign would end. God had determined this.
壁に書かれていたことは決して王の君臨が終わったことを意味していたのではありません。 There was no discussion or vote taking or negotiation of the times or the terms. Before God’s sovereignty, nothing else stands. それは決して討論をしなければならないやら、選挙をするやら、時間や任期を取り決めをするなどという意味ではありませんでした。それは、神の主権の前には何も抗う物がないという意味でした。
All books of the Bible point to Jesus. Jesus also stated His divine sovereignty over political kingdoms to Pilate before His crucifixion. He said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” John 18:36
聖書の中の書簡はすべてイエスを暗示しています。イエスははりつけの刑にかかる前に、ご自分の神の持つ主権を政治的世界に、ピラテに、こう述べました。
イエスは答えられた、「わたしの国はこの世のものではない。もしわたしの国がこの世のものであれば、わたしに従っている者たちは、わたしをユダヤ人に渡さないように戦ったであろう。しかし事実、わたしの国はこの世のものではない」。ヨハネによる福音書18:36
So God is sovereign over political Kingdoms.
なので神は政治的世界を支配されています。
ii. The natural sphere
自然界
Daniel’s faithfulness and godly wisdom created enemies.
ダニエルの誠実さと神のような賢さはたくさんの敵を作ってしまいました。 As a result, he was thrown into the lions’ den. 結果的に、彼はライオンの巣窟の中に放り込まれてしまいました。You know the story. Daniel is thrown in and spends a night with the lions. この話はみなさんご存知でしょう。ダニエルはライオンの巣窟の中に投げ込まれ、一夜をライオン達と明かしました。 They don’t touch him. しかし、ライオン達はダニエルに一度も手を出しませんでした。 Now, many faithful people were thrown to the lions and were eaten alive. もちろん、わかっています。たくさんの誠実な人々がライオンの群れに放り込まれ、 餌食になってしまったこともありました。God’s sovereignty doesn’t guarantee rescue in any and every situation.
神の主権は確かに誰でも彼でも、どんな状態からでも救ってくれる訳ではありません。 But God and His purposes are not restricted by any power – political, natural or otherwise.
しかし、神とその目的は政治的、自然、その他どんな力によっても制限されていません。
Again, all books point to Jesus. もう一度言いますが、どの書でも焦点はイエスに当たっています。 Jesus demonstrated that He had divine sovereignty over the natural sphere when he commanded the wind and waves to cease, when he multiplied the loaves of bread and the fish, when he walked on water, when he raised Lazarus from the dead, and when He Himself resurrected from the dead. And the apostles demonstrated the same sorts of things, like Paul being unharmed by the snake.
イエスは風と波に静まるように命じたり、パンと魚を何倍にも増やしたり、水の上を歩いたり、ラザロを死からよみがえらせたり、ご自分が死からよみがえったりして自然界に神の主権があることを実証しています。そして、使徒達は同じような話を再現しようとしました。例えば、ポールが蛇にかまれずに無傷であったとか。
God is sovereign over the natural kingdom.
神は自然界を支配されています。
iii. The spiritual sphere
霊的世界
Daniel was a very active prophet and the book that bears his name is a highly prophetic book. ダニエルは活動的な予言者でした、そして彼の名前をつけられた書はとても予言的な本です。In fact, a good deal of the prophetic language of the book of Revelation refers to the book of Daniel. 事実、ヨハネの黙示録のような予言的な言葉がたくさん書かれている本はどれもダニエル書を参考にしています。The very fact that Daniel was able to prophesy and see the future is a mark of God’s sovereignty over the spiritual kingdom.
ダニエルが預言をし未来を見ることができたのは、神が霊的世界を支配しているしるしです。
Daniel’s prophecies were nothing short of amazing, so let’s look at a couple of them.
ダニエルの予言は多大な驚きに値する予言でした。少し、読んでみましょう。
Revealing future political events and powers.
これから起こる政治的出来事と権力を啓示する
“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.” Daniel 7:7
その後わたしが夜の幻のうちに見た第四の獣は、恐ろしい、ものすごい、非常に強いもので、大きな鉄の歯があり、食らい、かつ、かみ砕いて、その残りを足で踏みつけた。これは、その前に出たすべての獣と違って、十の角を持っていた。 ダニエル書7:7
Without context, it’s hard to see the fulfilment of this clearly but in context, it points to the Roman Empire (vs 23-25 explain this). 当時の状況がわからなければ、なかなかその予言が当たっていたのかどうかわかりにくいですが、予言はローマ帝国のことについてふれています。And this was 500 years before the Roman Empire came about.そしてローマ帝国が実際に作られる５００年も前にその予言はされていたのです。
b. Revealing the coming Messiah
後にやってくるメシヤを啓示する
“Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’” (9:25)
それゆえ、エルサレムを建て直せという命令が出てから、メシヤなるひとりの君が来るまで、七週と六十二週あることを知り、かつ悟りなさい。その間に、しかも不安な時代に、エルサレムは広場と街路とをもって、建て直されるでしょう。ダニエル書9:25
Daniel prophesied that “the Anointed One, the ruler”, would come 483 years after “the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem” (9:25). This works out to the time of Jesus’ ministry. This foresight is not possible without a supremely sovereign God.
ダニエル書９章２５節では、「エルサレムを建て直せという命令が出てから」４８３年後に「聖なる統治する者／メシヤ」の出現を予言しています。このような先見は最高の主権を持っておられる神なしではできません。
For homework, look also at how Daniel describes this anointed Messiah (7:13,14) and then compare that to how John describes Jesus in Rev 1:7, 13
宿題です。ダニエル書７章１３、１４節を読んで、ダニエルが聖なるメシヤのことをどのように書いているでしょうか？そして、創世記１章７、と１３節でヨハネがイエスのことをどのように表現しているかを比べて見てください。
The book of Daniel is a reminder of who God is in the fullest sense. Other books give us certain aspects of God’s character. Eg. In Genesis we see God the Creator. In Exodus we see God the Redeemer, in Leviticus as see God the lawgiver, in Deuteronomy we see a God of love, in Joshua we see a God of judgement and so on.
ダニエル書は神が完全にどんなお方であるかを思い出させてくれます。
他の書では神のあらゆる性質のことを私たちに教えてくれています。例えば、創世記の中では、神は創造主である、という風に。出エジプト記では神は救い主、レビ記では神は立法者である、申命記(しんめいき) では神は愛である、ヨシュア記では裁きの神、などと言う風に書かれています。
[In] Daniel is like an overview where we see God the Sovereign Lord in all His splendor and awesomeness: power, justice, mercy, love etc. It’s all there.
ダニエル書は神である主の尊厳、素晴らしさ、力、正義、あわれみ、愛が見える、などを書いた概要のようなものです。そこにすべてが書かれています。
What About Us? このことは、私たちに、どんな関係があるのでしょうか？
This is wonderful in a cosmic sense. We read the end of the book and we know Who wins and we want to be a part of that victory. This is good and wonderful to know.
まるで大宇宙のように、誰が勝者で、勝利の一部を勝ち取れたかのようにこの書を読んでいるのではないでしょうか？確かに、素晴らしいし、知って良かったですよね。
But what does it mean for us personally and in a daily sense? It can be a bit ‘out there’, can’t it?’ Is the sovereignty of God just something for us to look forward to at the end of time?
でも、これは私たち個人や日々の生活にはどういう意味があるのでしょうか？ちょっと関係ないように感じるかも知れません。最終的に、私たちが心待ちにしていることは神の支配や統治だけなのでしょうか？
Jesus says no!
イエスは違うと言っています。
Our theme for this year is ‘Your Kingdom Come’ as it came with Christ and more so! We are seeking to bring God’s Kingdom with all its redemptive power and healing and sovereignty into our world and into our lives. And Jesus speaks of this happening to those who humble themselves before God.
キリストとともにやって来たように、これからもそうであるように 「御国が来ますように」 が私たちの今年のテーマです。
贖い（あがない）の力と癒しと主権とともに、神の御国を、今の世界や私たちの人生にもたらすことを求めています。そして、イエスは神の前で謙虚である人々に御国が来ると言っています。
Matthew 6 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
また、なぜ、着物のことで思いわずらうのか。野の花がどうして育っているか、考えて見るがよい。働きもせず、紡ぎもしない。
29 しかし、あなたがたに言うが、栄華をきわめた時のソロモンでさえ、この花の一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。
30 きょうは生えていて、あすは炉に投げ入れられる野の草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、あなたがたに、それ以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか。ああ、信仰の薄い者たちよ。
31 だから、何を食べようか、何を飲もうか、あるいは何を着ようかと言って思いわずらうな。
32 これらのものはみな、異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの天の父は、これらのものが、ことごとくあなたがたに必要であることをご存じである。
33 まず神の国と神の義とを求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは、すべて添えて与えられるであろう。
God’s sovereignty reaches into eternity but it also reaches into the details of our lives. We see it in material provision. We see it in guidance and wisdom. We see it manifest in relationships. We see God’s sovereign power in changed lives – and I’ve seen this myself this week in beautiful ways.
神の主権は永遠にまで至ります。私たちの人生の隅々にまで至ります。神の権力を
物質の供給 導きと知恵 人間関係 変えられた人生、の中に私たちは見ることができます。
そして、今週、私自身もこのような神様の権力を様々な素晴らしい形で見ることができました。
God’s sovereignty reaches into eternity but it also reaches into the details of our lives.
神の主権は永遠にまで至ります。私たちの人生の隅々にまで至ります。
Don’t quench the Spirit. Embrace it.
御霊を消してはいけません。しっかりと受け止めてください。
