Julia – Thailand Mission Trip

Hi, My name I’m Julia, for those of you who don’t know me,
こんにちは。もし、私の事を知らない人がいたら、その人たちに自己紹介をしたいと思います。私の名前はジュリアです。
I’ve been part of this church since 4 years ago, when I moved to Osaka, together with my Family.
私たち家族が大阪に越して来た4年前から、私はこの教会の一員です。
It is so good to be back here with you and it’s such an honour for me to get to share with you a bit today, because you guys have been such an support and encouragement to me all these years.
久しぶりにこの教会に帰ってくる事ができて嬉しいですし、今日みなさんにお話ができることをとても光栄に思っています。なぜなら、この教会のみなさんは私をずっと応援し、励ましてくれていたからです。
And I learned so incredibly much about what church family looks like from you.
そして、教会の家族とはどういうものなのかをみなさんからたくさん学ぶ事ができました。
So, A year ago I moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand for a gap year to do missions work, which is what I want to tell you about today and I also would like to talk about Jesus.
一年前のことですが、私は一年間の休学中に伝道活動をするために、タイのチャンマイという都市に移り住みました。今日は私のタイでの伝道活動とイエス様のことについてお話したいと思います。

Before I head right into my testimony, I have some pictures for you to generally get you an idea where I went and also summarise for you what I did this past year.
証言をする前に、私がこの一年間どんな所に行って、どんな事をしてきたかを少しわかってもらうために写真を持って来たので見てもらいたいと思います。

*So I moved to Chiang Mai city, but I lived a little bit further outside.
これは、チャンマイですが、私はチャンマイから少し離れた郊外に住んでいました。
*It was easy to get there though by motorcycle.
バイクに乗ればそんなに遠くはありません。
*The church I was serving at always congregated at a Hotel.
私が行っていた教会はホテルの一室を使用して礼拝を行っていました。
The church consists of around 60 members, most of them being thai-german families.
その教会は常時60人ぐらいの規模で、信者の大半はタイのドイツ系の家族でした。
My main job was leading worship, but there were many different things that I also did.
私のその教会での仕事は、賛美のリーダーの役割でしたが、その他にもいろんな仕事をしました。
Just as in School, as a volunteer in this program you’re someone who can be asked to do anything.
そこには学校があり、そこでは、ボランティア活動をしている私のような人材は何でも言われた事をしなければなりません。
Absolutely anything. 文字通りなんでもしなければいけません。
Its very good to train patience and a serving heart…Some of the teachers and students that I worked with in the School also attended the church.
そのことは私にとっては心から奉仕し、忍耐力を養うという、とてもよい訓練になりました。
*I was part of a very connected german community in Chiang Mai.
チャンマイではその地域のドイツ人社会の一員としてとても良く関わっていました。
Chiang Mai is a city that is often filled with tourists, especially a lot of backpackers, as well as a lot of foreigners that stay in the city for a couple of months.
チャンマイは特にバックパッカーのような旅行者や数ヶ月にわたって滞在するようなたくさんの外国人の旅行者であふれていました。
So being there for a year was already unusually long and when thai people hear that you made an effort to learn their language they are very surprised.
そのような場所に一年も滞在するというのは、通常より長い期間ですし、何よりも、私がタイ語を学ぶ努力までしようとしていると聞いた時はタイの人たちはとても驚いたと思います。
*I didn’t specifically know this before I left, but my main ministry was reaching german people in
Chiang Mai.
タイのチャンマイに行くまでは、私にもはっきりと明確にはわかっていなかったのですが、私のそこでの主な伝道の働きかけは、そこにいるドイツ系の人たちに対してということになりました。
But I did get the chance to study the language and was able make several connections to thai people, even make friends that I hold really dearly!
しかし、もちろんタイ語を学ぶという機会も大切にしましたし、何より、タイの現地の人たちとたくさん関わる事ができましたし、タイ人の友達もできました!
*I had the chance to help out at an orphanage in a different city, where I was completely on my own living with and teaching english to kids.
色んな街で孤児院のお手伝いをする機会も得ました。そこでは、私は一人暮らしをし、子ども達に英語を教えました。
I also got to visit several hill tribes during this year.
また滞在中に、いくつかの山間民族に出会う事も出来ました。

*The biggest part of my work though was in the German school! I was a teachers assistant for first and second grade and I spent most of my time with a group of 19 Kids.
しかし、わたしの一番大きな仕事はそこでのドイツ学校での仕事でした。私はその学校で一年生と二年生のホームルームの先生達のアシスタントをし、時間の大半を19人の子ども達、生徒達と過ごしていました。
My position in that classroom was very interesting, because I had the authority of a teacher, but because I was with them all day and they did have their subject teachers, I was also their friend and their older sister which gave me such a special chance to build relationships with every single one of them.
私のクラスルームでの仕事は大変興味深いものでした。教室では先生と同じ権限が与えられ、一日中生徒達と一緒です。各教科の先生達も教室に来ます。何より、私は生徒達の友達のような役割もし、大きなお姐さん役でもありました。そして、生徒達一人一人と特別な関係を築く事ができたのです。
*Then, I was also part of working in the youth ministry of the church and school!
また、そこでは、学校と教会のユースグループのために働く事が出来ました。
I got the chance to invest into 20 Kids from 8th – 12th grade! It was incredibly special and I’m so amazed at what God did in my and their hearts during the times with them.
ユースグループには8年生から12年生までの20人の生徒を招く事ができました。そのような素晴らしい出来事がおこり、私は神様が私たちの心に働きかけ起こしてくださった出来事に本当に感嘆しました。

Dedication to Jesus / Jesus’ sacrifice is deeper than we think/know/realise
神への献身/イエスの犠牲は私たちが思っている以上に、知っている以上に、気づいている以上に深く大きい
– As an MK, I always knew Missionaries aren’t spiritual super heroes.
ー伝道師の子どもとして、私はいつも知っていました。宣教師は信仰のスーパーヒーローではない
– Missionaries are christians who “go” to spread the gospel of Christ, often to other countries.
伝道師達は神の福音を伝える為に、おもに他の国へ「出かけて行く」クリスチャン達である。
There was something that changed in my heart and in the way I lived though, when I dedicated this year of going to Thailand to Jesus. It was so significant, it’s changed my entire life.
イエス様の為にタイに行くという献身を捧げ、その暮らしを通して、私のなかで何か変化がありました。

‘Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;
and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for us,
an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.’
こうして、あなたがたは、神に愛されている子供として、神にならう者になりなさい。
2 また愛のうちを歩きなさい。キリストもあなたがたを愛して下さって、わたしたちのために、ご自身を、神へのかんばしいかおりのささげ物、また、いけにえとしてささげられたのである。

Normal Christian Life in a different country: 各国での通常のクリスチャンの生活
My mindset: I’m here for only Jesus and I’m living for only Jesus.
私の考え:私はイエス様だけのためにここにいて、イエス様だけのために生きている

How much of our lives is dependant on him? Does your life/ any area of your life make sense without him? あなたの人生は、神様がいなくても意味をなしますか?
人生のどれだけをイエス様にゆだねているでしょうか?

I started to surrender the most normal parts of my life.
わたしは、普通の人生をあきらめ、神にゆだねることにしました。
/ A surrendered heart receives eyes for the Kingdom of God and for his glory!
心を神にゆだねれば神の御国と神の栄光が見えます。
Sacrificial worship, looks like being patient and loving with Kids after 8 hours of them non stop screaming in your ears. Serving with a pure heart and joy.
それはまるで生徒たちに8時間もの間ノンストップでずーっと耳元で叫ばれていても、愛をもって我慢するというような犠牲的な賛美。純粋な心と喜びをもって奉仕するということです。

After realising that also Life in Thailand would be ‘normal’, I had to make a decision to say
‘God have your way through me in this environment.
タイでの生活は「普通」だと気づいた後、「神様はこのような環境を通じて、神様にゆだねる」と公言する決心をしたのです。
’ For God to have his way through you in an environment, he has to make his way through your heart…and there are a lot of things that IN THE WAY, that need to be surrendered.
どのような環境にいても神様は道を示してくださる。神はあなたの心を通して道をしめしてくださる。そして、私が経験したように、もう全てを捨てて降参するしかないような、たくさんの出来事を通して神様の示している道を見る事ができるのです。

学校:一生懸命働く
Normal day in school: I would arrive, do my work as best as I could, get coffee, started praying for the Kids I was with.
学校での普通の一日はこうです:学校に到着し、一生懸命働く、コーヒーをのみ、子ども達のために祈る。
Church: God corrected me to love selflessly even if it was a church I wouldn’t have chosen to go to.
教会:自分が選んだ教会でなくても私心をなくして愛するようにと神様は私を正して   くださいました。
Home: Surrendering dynamics in relationships.家では:全ての関係を神にゆだねる
We take the Kingdom of God wherever we go
神の御国をどこへでもたずさえて行く
I had big dreams and expectations for God, I was so hungry for him to move in big ways, but I learned I had to surrender in small things of life, for him to be able to use me.
私は神に対して大きな期待と夢を持っていました。神様が私を大きく動かしてくださるようにと常に渇望していました。
God started to open doors.
神様はドアを開けてくださいました。
I had conversations with Kids that I never knew before and then there was a period of time when I got pray with children and teachers every single day.
私は今まで知らなかった子ども達と話し合い、知り合えることができました。また先生達や生徒達と、祈りの時間を持つ事ができました。
There were many chances to talk about Jesus.
イエス様の事を話す機会がたくさん持てました。
I was asked to speak in the school’s assembly twice, where I got to share my heart and talk about Jesus
学校の全校集会で二度話をしてくれと言われ、私の気持ちとイエス様のことを話す機会を持つ事ができました。
And then a lot of not normal things started to happen; Eg. Amy
そして、普通のことがたくさん起こり始めました。例えばエイミーです。
etc.

Where my heart was at before moving to Thailand:
タイに住む以前の私の気持ちはこうでした。

I had tough three years of trials and struggles behind me. There were a lot of different spiritual fights that I was battling and I was struggling with loneliness.
試練と葛藤の3年を過ごしました。たくさんの精神的な戦いと葛藤があり、私は孤独   と向き合い苦悩していました。
The biggest lie that I had in my head was that if I was not hearing or feeling God, he was not close and therefore he did not love me.
一番の大きな偽りというか欺きは、私の心の中で、もし、神様からの声を聞く事ができなかったり神様を感じたりする事ができなかったら、きっと神様はもう私の事を愛してはおられないんだという思いが芽生えてきました。
But, even though, spiritually there were so many things going on in my life that I did not understand and they confused me, every time I would surrender and come back to the cross, spend time worshipping God, something inside of me knew this is what life is about. That this is who I really was and that He is all that I ever need. And that leading people to him was all that I ever wanted to do.
しかし、かりにそうだとしても、とてつもなくたくさんの説明の付かないような出来事が私に起こっており、困惑しました。毎回、神様にゆだね、十字架に立ち返る時、神様への賛美の時間、私のなかの何かが「私の人生にはこれしかない。」と知っていました。これが本来の私で、神様だけが私にとって必要な方で、神様に導く事が出来るような人になるというのが、私の望みだということに気づいたのです。
On my 18th Birthday I came to a point where I just knew, that I really needed more of Jesus. That I needed redemption in my life.
私の18歳の誕生日に、はっきりとわかりました。私にはもっとイエス様が必要だと、私には罪の贖いが必要だという事がわかりました。
I needed God to challenge my whole understanding of the cross and that I needed him to revive my heart so I would be able to freely love him like I did when I was younger.
神様に私の神様への理解度を試してもらう必要があったのです。そうすれば、私の神様への愛は増し、もっと若かった頃のようにもう一度、神様を自由に好きなだけ愛する事ができるからです。
Since my prayer for Jesus reveal himself again to me and my decision to dedicate the upcoming year to him, he has completely turned my life upside down.
私のイエス様への祈りは神様自身が、もう一度私の前に現れてくださり、これからの人生を神様に捧げるということでした。イエス様は私の人生を完全に覆されました。
Revelation of the cross: Jesus didn’t only just die for the time we get to heaven.
十字架の啓示:イエス様はただ単に私たちを天に導く為に死なれたのではない。
Any thoughts in us that say that God does not want to be with us right now are lies. It goes against everything the Gospel is about.
こんな考え方もあると思います。例えば、神様は、この世で今は私たちとともにはいたいと思っていない。しかし、このような考えは福音の全てに反しています。
He died so relationship with the Father can be restored and so that we can receive an inheritance as children.
イエスは父である神様との関係を修復する為に死なれました。そうすれば私たちは神の子どもとして受け継ぐことができるからです。

He is deserving of all the glory and honour
すべての栄光と誉れを受けるに値するお方
Eg. Encounter with Jesus. He is my friend. 例えば、イエス様との遭遇。イエス様は私の友達。
Jesus could walk into the room right now. Do our Hearts honour him that way.
イエスは今ちょうどこの部屋にも歩いて入ってくる事ができます。私たちの心は敬意を持って彼を迎える準備ができているでしょうか?
// Bill Johnson: If God would show up in all his glory, everyone would be required to worship.
ビル ジョンソンが言いました。もし、神が栄光をもって現れたなら、全ての人が崇拝することを求められる。
This is how much God honours free will and gives us a choice to worship.
これは、どれだけ神が私たちの自由な気持ちを尊重してくれて、実は神様を賛美する選択肢を与えてくれていること、私たちに賛美せよと無理強いしていない事を表しています。
Just because he doesn’t, doesn’t mean he becomes less worthy of worship.
イエスは私たちに強制的には接しません。これは、イエスが賛美に値しないからだという訳ではありません。
Everyday, I want to be glad about my salvation and in awe how I received it.
私は毎日、施された救済を、畏れを持って受け取り、そして感謝したいと思います。
because the sacrifice of Jesus is more vast than I can imagine, I want to honour it.
イエス様の払われた犠牲は私の創造を絶する程とてつもなく大きく、そのことに対して尊敬の念を持ちたいと思います。

When our hearts worship, God can work and build something inside of you,
私たちの心が神を礼拝するとき、神はあなたのうちにはたらき、何かを作り上げてくださいます。

Bowing ourselves before God, as he is a good King, surrendering all to him,
so he can build his Kingdom inside of me.
神様の前に頭を下げましょう。なぜなら彼は良き王だからです。降参し、ひれ伏しましょう。そうれば、神が私のなかに御国をもたらしてくれるからです。

God can do absolutely anything through a heart that is bowed before him.
神様はひれ伏した心の前では絶対的に何でもしてくださいます。
Learning to listen to God’s voice through his correction.
神の正してくださる声を通して、神の声に耳を傾けることを学びましょう。

Spiritual Growth is to surrender, to be obedient and to trust that God will take to where you need to be and transform you who you were made to be.
霊的成長とはゆだねること、従順であること、神様があなたを必要としておられるところへ連れて行き、あるべきあなたに変えられることを信じることです。

revival in your heart / revival all around you
心のリバイバル/あなたのまわりのリバイバル

– Revival always starts in surrender
 リバイバルはいつもゆだねることから始まる
– It starts and remains at the cross
 十字架から始まり、十字架にとどまる
– It brings a greater revelation of Jesus >> restoration of the view of the Father’s heart
and the view of the Father > affects our relationship with him > affects all our life> we start to live out a life that we had been made for all along; free, boldly loved and boldly loving children of God, who know who they are and who they belong to
イエス様のより大きな啓示をもたらす。お父様の心を見ることと、お父様への見方を見直す。このことは、私たちの父との関係に影響します。私たちの人生にも影響します。私たちが勝手に作って来た人生から抜け出す事ができます。大胆に神に愛されることができ、自分たちが誰なのか誰のものなのかを知っている神様の子達を愛することができます。

Ephesians 3:14-19
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
こういうわけで、わたしはひざをかがめて、
15 天上にあり地上にあって「父」と呼ばれているあらゆるものの源なる父に祈る。
16 どうか父が、その栄光の富にしたがい、御霊により、力をもってあなたがたの内なる人を強くして下さるように、
17 また、信仰によって、キリストがあなたがたの心のうちに住み、あなたがたが愛に根ざし愛を基として生活することにより、
18 すべての聖徒と共に、その広さ、長さ、高さ、深さを理解することができ、
